Our Concrete Services
Our own crew handles every step of your project. We do not pass work off to outside sub-contractors. From the first excavation to the final sealer coat, we manage everything in-house.
Custom Concrete Driveways
Your driveway carries a lot of weight every day. Cars, trucks, and heavy SUVs roll across it constantly. Over the years, a poorly poured driveway will crack, sink, and crumble.
Stamped Concrete Patios
Stamped concrete gives you the beauty of natural stone or brick at a fraction of the cost. After we pour the wet concrete, we press large textured mats into the surface. These mats leave patterns like slate, cobblestone, or wood plank pressed right into the slab. We then broadcast a dry-shake color hardener across the surface to bring in rich, layered tones. To protect the finished surface, we apply a solvent-based acrylic concrete sealer with a pump sprayer. This sealer locks in the color and stops water and oil from penetrating the surface. The application complies with El Dorado County Air Quality Management District Rule 215 governing VOC content limits in architectural coatings.
Slabs, Pads, and Foundations
We pour structural concrete pads for these situations. We start by grading the ground perfectly level. We build a wood form around the perimeter to hold the wet concrete in shape. Before we pour, we install a 15-mil polyolefin underslab vapor retarder across the base. This thick plastic sheet blocks ground moisture from rising up into the slab and causing rust or mold. We verify the moisture baseline using an ASTM F2170 in-situ relative humidity probe placed directly in the test hole. Every slab we pour meets the thickness requirements of California Building Code Section 1907.1 for concrete slabs on grade.
Concrete Walkways and Steps
We design and pour walkways that are safe first and attractive second. After the concrete sets, we drag a coarse masonry broom across the wet surface to create a non-slip texture. We shape clean, rounded edges along both sides using a magnesium hand edger to prevent chipping. We also offer integral concrete color pigment mixed into the batch so your walkway has a natural tone instead of plain grey. All walkway slopes are kept at or below 1:20 as required by California Building Code Chapter 11B Section 11B-403.3 for accessible walking surface cross-slope limits.

Why El Dorado Hills Homeowners Choose Progressive Landscapes for Masonry
Homeowners across El Dorado Hills, Folsom, and Serrano choose us because our work holds up. Here is what makes our masonry service different from other contractors in the area:
- We Start with the Right Footing: Every wall, planter, and pillar we build starts with a concrete footing below the clay layer. This is the most important step, and most homeowners never see it. We never skip it.
- We Build Drainage Into Every Wall — Water trapped behind a masonry wall will push it over time. We install gravel backfill and drain pipe behind every retaining wall to release that pressure safely.
- We Use Our Own Crew — We do not pass your project off to sub-contractors. The team that plans your job is the team that builds it. This keeps the quality consistent from start to finish.
- We Walk You Through the Options — Block or stone. Mortar or dry-stack. We explain the difference in plain language so you can make the right choice for your budget and your yard.
- We Are Fully Licensed and Insured — We carry a current CSLB license (No. 970596) and full general liability coverage. This protects your home and your investment from start to finish.
How We Build Your Masonry Project
We do not cut corners on any of these stages.
Site Assessment
We visit your property and study the ground conditions, slope, and drainage patterns before we design anything. This tells us what the footing needs to look like before we ever break ground.
